Role of Gareth Filled

After hours of intense script readings and auditions we finally have one role filled. congratulations to Carl Atkinson who has managed to win the role of 'Gareth' in our production.

On getting the part, Carl quoted:

" I cant wait for ugg boots to go out of fashion"

"i would happily drag a shark inland and murder it, im available for children's party's with that one."

"I didnt agree to anything...."

We are happy we managed to persuade carl to join the team and im sure he is over the moon.

Filming Delayed

Due to the monumental interest, we have delayed filming to hold auditions for roles in our production.

Auditions have gone well so far with some very strong candidates already.Lots more auditions to be held, then we should be ready to start filming on the 7th March!!

We have also been tweaking the script and are currently developing a new character. We are meeting a Script Writer who will help us with the structure, quality and anything else that needs developing, very soon.

Character Profiles

Main Character Profiles:

Ryan - 1st encounter; Wake up scene: Wakes in pain because of an unexpected tattoo on his lower back
Personality and background: Ryan is the more confident man of the group. Although he doesn’t have the looks that Luke possesses, he still gets his fair share of women. He also has a tendency to get himself in trouble. Ryan is from a council estate with a large family with 4 other brothers, a single mum and plenty of cousins. Although he never knew his father, he doesn’t mind to joke about it.


Luke - 1st encounter; Wake up scene: Wakes in his jurassic park bed next to camp man in rave gear
Personality and background: Luke is seen as the more 'normal' one of the group. He is a young good looking man, with plenty of charisma and charm. He is very vain but at the same time easy to get along with. Luke comes from a poor family in the north of England, but is still very well dressed and keeps up to date with the present fashion



Gareth - 1st encounter; Wake up scene: Filmed in a 'peep show' style shot of him waking up in a wizard outfit
Personality and background: Gareth is seen as quite 'odd' but it doesn’t bother anyone, they just let him get on with it. He likes to keep himself to himself and has a tendency to smoke weed. Gareth's family live in the countryside, in a village in which everybody knows everybody. This would be the reason he doesn’t like to share a lot of things about himself with his university friends.


Oliver - 1st encounter; wake up scene: wakes in a bush outside house
Personality and background: Oliver is a well spoken sensible young man from a very wealthy background. He is described by others as '18 going on 40' because of his obsession with intellectual (or boring) topics of conversation. He is an only child with over protective parents that ring him every hour on the hour during the day.


Minor Character Profiles:

Suzie - 1st encounter; Ryan's Flash back of night before:
Personality and background: Suzie is a very 'in your face' girl who has taken a shine to Ryan and is seen as a 'tag along'. She prefers the company of boys over girls, not because she is a flirt but simply because she gets on better with them. Suzie comes from a dysfunctional family in which her ex-best friend is engaged to her father, a Factor that the boys won't let her forget.

Brad - 1st encounter; Wake up scene: Brad wakes up next to Luke in his bed
Personality and Background: Brad is an eccentric homosexual who loves nothing more than to have a good night out clubbing. He has a keen interest in the Luke because of his good looks and cannot accept the fact he doesn’t have a chance with him.

Earlier productions we have successfully worked on are projects such as the splendour that is, 'Dick Thunders Student quiz Show 2010'. Which you have most definitely seen many times simply because, you love it!!... couldn't blame you, who doesn't.

Next Production:

We knew straight away that we wanted to create another genuine masterpiece in the comedy genre. This being the case we got started on ideas.

We decided we wanted our target audience to be between the ages of 16 to 25. After this we then drew up a list of films and television programmes that fit this target audience and also the genre of our idea (Comedy). We also looked at the styles and techniques used in comedy that we thought would work great in our production.

-Influential Style of Comedy:

Firstly we looked at The Inbetweeners, which is an award winning comedy about four boys who go to sixth form. According to its synopsis 'The Inbetweeners follows four friends as they navigate the minefield of the Comprehensive education with their hormones at full blast '.The type of crude and In your face humour is the reason we have researched this particular program. As our Idea also has four boys as the main characters there are many similarities to this program. However the style of comedy used is very influential in our piece.
